    Welcome to Stevens and the start of your doctoral journey.

    New Ph.D. Student Orientation is held on campus each August for all new doctoral students. This program is designed to prepare you for success by introducing you to Stevens’ distinctive research culture, outlining important policies and expectations, and connecting you with key faculty, staff, and resources across the university.

    What to Expect During Orientation

    • Learn the Stevens Way by gaining insight into policies, expectations, academic standards, and the research culture unique to the Stevens doctoral experience.
    • Meet Your Research Community by connecting with faculty, staff, and current Ph.D. students who will help guide and support you throughout your doctoral journey.
    • Explore Cutting-Edge Labs through tours of specialized laboratories not typically open to the public and learn about ongoing, innovative research taking place at Stevens.

    Important Information

    The Orientation runs from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM, with check-in beginning at 8:00 AM in the UCC Tech Flex Auditorium. The full agenda and additional resources are available on the New Ph.D. Student Orientation webpage.

    All new Ph.D. students are expected to attend orientation. If you have an extenuating circumstance that prevents you from participating, please email doctoralsupport@stevens.edu as soon as possible.
