Virtual Lecture: Enterprise Security Risks in 5G

Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 8:00 AM until 9:00 AMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

    Zoom Web Conference

Emerging 5G networks promise to deliver high-network speeds and enable robust mobile capabilities that organizations will quickly come to rely upon to support a variety of systems and architectures. Just as with all new technologies, 5G presents unique risk concerns that enterprises must evaluate with respect to their own technical and organizational contexts. As reliance on 5G grows, so too will the cybersecurity risks as organizations will rapidly increase the volume of data transfers over 5G. At the same time, businesses will need to learn about, and respond to, inherent risks in the technology. This presentation will describe emerging cybersecurity risk dimensions in 5G and identify potential approaches to managing the risks.

    Presenter: Prof. Paul Rohmeyer

Dr. Rohmeyer is a faculty member at Stevens who has presented and published on IT security and business continuation. He has been cited in information security, IT and business publications.  He has achieved the CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT), PMP (Project Management Professional), and NSA-IAM (U.S. National Security Agency Information Assurance Methodology) credentials. He has more than 25 years of professional and academic experience, and has held management positions with Bellcore/Telcordia, Citigroup, and AXA Financial, while providing consulting services to numerous financial institutions on cybersecurity risk management and IT governance.
